Welcome

What's the first thing you think of when you hear the rumble of a motorcycle? Do you ever think, even in the slightest, what would it be like to be on one of those, to have the wind blowing through my hair, to feel the road unfold beneath me as I ride, to experience the true freedom of the open road? If you have ever thought of this, even a little bit, then you have some kind of idea what it’s like for those of us who ride on a regular basis.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that freedom is spoke of so much throughout the Bible. In John 8:32 Jesus says, "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." Jesus of course being the truth mentioned here. The freedom Jesus is speaking of is the freedom from the bondage as well as the consequences of sin. Galatians 5:1 says that Christ has really set us free. How has He done this, through His sacrificial death on the cross which satisfied once and for all the payment required by God. Jesus has paid the ultimate price so that we may experience total and complete freedom.

Freedom from what you might ask. Galatians 5:13 says For you have been called to live in freedom---not freedom to satisfy your sinful nature, but freedom to serve one another in love. Jesus has set us free so that we may be all that God wants us to be.

Some would have a hard time thinking of Jesus The Biker, but really He was a lot like you and me. The government didn't like Him. The church thought He was weird. His friends were few. What friends He had, denied Him. He was persecuted by hypocrites. He hung around people like you and me, not the goody-two shoes Pharisees. Yes, if Jesus were on this earth in the flesh, He would be next to you on His Harley telling you he loves you.......enough to die for you.

A Biker's Prayer

Dear God,

As I begin this ride today,

watch over me along the way,

help me to do my very best

to complete this ride with all the rest,

yet in this race of life I know

I’ve made mistakes and stumbled so,

but because of Christ’s great love for me,

His death on the cross has set me free.

So as I continue along the way,

help me to live the Christ-like way,

though I’m not perfect by any means,

with JESUS CHRIST, I’m on the winning team.

AMEN
